90 Day Fiancé’s Sam Wilson Boldly Compares Himself To Taylor Swift After Constant Criticism

Summary

  • Sam Wilson, a star of “90 Day Fiancé,” has openly shared his past drug addiction and arrest history in season 10, receiving both criticism and support from viewers.
  • Despite speculation about his missing teeth and changed facial features, Sam claims his physical appearance is unrelated to his drug addiction, attributing it to his Irish ancestry.
  • Sam is dedicated to his relationship with Citra and has converted to Islam to make her father happy before their wedding, while worrying about the possibility of going to jail.

90 Day Fiancé star Sam Wilson has found something in common between him and Taylor Swift. Sam, a 32-year-old from Missouri, met the 26-year-old Citra four years ago on a dating app. Citra from Indonesia was interested in knowing more about the “baby-faced” Sam. The couple started off as friends but developed feelings within a year. Sam came clean to Citra about his drug addiction past and got engaged to her two years later by flying to West Bogor. Citra came to the U.S. in 2023 to marry Sam. Sam’s storyline in season 10 is getting attention for more than his relationship.

As Sam continues to deal with criticism about his drug past, his jaw, and apparently missing bottom teeth, he is also getting support from a certain section of fans.

Sam posed for a selfie with his dog and wrote, “I feel like Taylor. He added that he feels like the Grammy-winning songstress because, like Taylor, who has an “Army of loyal Swifties” he has fans who have his back. “P.S. let’s go chiefs” Sam added as an afterthought showing his allegiance to the American football team Kansas City Chiefs. Taylor is in a relationship with Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce.

Sam Wilson’s 90 Day Fiancé Storyline Explained

Sam from 90 Day Fiance Season 10 confessional

Unlike certain 90 Day Fiancé stars who have kept their criminal pasts hidden from viewers, Sam has been quite open about his drug and arrest history in season 10. Sam became addicted to opiates as a teenager and became clean only when he turned 22 years old. The addiction affected Sam’s personal and professional life as it became difficult for him to keep a relationship or a job. Sam, however, managed to quit his addiction apart from a few relapses along the way. Sam saw a doctor who prescribed Suboxone for him. It is a drug used to treat opioid use disorder (OUD).

In March 2023, Sam was arrested for carrying Suboxone with him without a prescription. He was allowed to apply for a diversion program. However, Sam missed the deadline and was facing possible jail time when he filmed 90 Day Fiancé. Some fans deduced that Sam may have been lying about his arrest details, and online portals such as InTouch reported that Sam was initially hit with felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of buprenorphine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia charges. Some viewers suspected Sam’s drug addiction affected his physical features.

Sam claimed that his bottom teeth were intact and that his chin was shaped differently because of his “Irish” ancestry from his dad’s side. Still, Sam is dedicated to his relationship with Citra and is going out of the way to make her father happy before their wedding. Sam converted to Islam just so he could marry Citra. Sam is worried about how Citra will manage if he does have to go to jail. 90 Day Fiancé viewers do have some sympathy for Sam, while according to him, there’s also an army of fans who only wish the best for him.

90 Day Fiancé airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on TLC.
