LEGO Star Wars has revealed the first images for their upcoming 25th-anniversary sets and bonus figures. Having first gained the license from Lucasfilm back in 1999, Star Wars has been one of LEGO’s most popular and best-selling product lines of all time. Now, LEGO is commemorating its 25 years with a special wave of LEGO Star Wars sets in 2024, coming with limited edition minifigures from various projects and eras across the Star Wars timeline.

Although there will likely be more to come, LEGO has released images of the first five 25th anniversary models coming soon to store shelves in March, Boarding The Tantive IV (75387), R2-D2 (75379), Millennium Falcon (75375), Tantive IV (75376), and Invisible Hand (75377). Although it’s similar to past models such as 2021’s R2-D2 (75308), this new version of the iconic astromech droid is smaller in scale and will reportedly be more affordable. The bonus 25th-anniversary minifigure will be none other than Darth Malak from Knights of the Old Republic.

LEGO is also releasing a collection of new midi-scale ship models in honor of the 25th anniversary. The first is a new version of The Millennium Falcon complete with its own name plaque and stand. The Millennium is easily Star Wars’ most popular and recognizable starships.

While LEGO’s new Boarding the Tantive IV (75387) might show an interior scene of Princess Leia’s ship, Tantive IV (75376) will depict the ship in its entirety as another exciting mid-scale ship. As such, many collectors will undoubtedly be interested in collecting both sets and displaying them side by side.

The third midi-scale ship release comes from Revenge of the Sith and the opening Battle of Coruscant in the planet’s orbit. The Invisible Hand was General Grievous’ flagship, the very same cruiser that Anakin Skywalker piloted to the planet’s surface even after the ship had been torn in two during the mission to save Chancellor Palpatine.

The Phantom Menace Also Turns 25

Lego Star Wars Phantom Menace

It’s worth noting that LEGO is celebrating a second Star Wars anniversary in 2024 as well. Beyond celebrating the LEGO Star Wars product line in general, 1999 also marks the year The Phantom Menace was released in theaters, the first movie of the prequel trilogy. With the movie also turning 25 this year, it’s been rumored that LEGO will be releasing several sets commemorating this anniversary as well.

LEGO has already released a small polybag set to select retailers, a miniature build of an AAT with special 25th-anniversary branding for The Phantom Menace on the packaging. To that end, it’s a strong sign that more anniversary sets are on the way right alongside the new wave of sets commemorating LEGO’s 25th anniversary with the galaxy far, far away overall. More 25th-anniversary sets and fan celebrations are expected throughout the year from the LEGO Group, including a 25-second film contest and even more surprises.
